Getting lost in the cloud
Cloud computing is something that we all have some understanding of because we all use it in some way but very few actually understand what’s going on when we access or use the cloud. Some people, literally, think that their files are stored in some mystical cloud in the sky. We knew that communicating the idea would be a challenge, so we decided to focus on the essential things that were important to a customer needing IT services and what their goals and challenges are. We decided to focus on the aspects of CCW’s specific cloud services that would be most attractive to their clients and then build the visuals and messaging around that.
The Trinity of CCW’s Cloud Services
The three key features we focused on are simplicity, flexibility, and painlessness. CCW’s cloud system offers a simple IT solution because it reduces the number of PCs that your infrastructure needs to use and maintain and focuses it all into one main hub (the cloud) where your services and computing are operated from. This also creates a more flexible infrastructure because adding new work stations is far more simple than it would be if you had to buy a whole new computer and operating system and setup and maintain everything that comes with that. All of this contributes to ease of use as the simplicity and flexibility offered by CCW’s solution means a much less stressful experience for users and business owners.
Branding the Cloud
With that messaging approach defined, we got to work on the visual identity that would compliment the core message. We wanted something that would have immediate associations with technology but still be unique enough to differentiate itself from the large assembly of similar sounding service providers. We designed a logo that emphasized the Canadian identity of the company as well as the sense of superiority and advantage that their services can provide. We also created custom illustrations and visuals to be used on the website and in other materials to help demystify the cloud.
The Result
The end result was a brand and a website that portrayed simplicity and ease where we typically feel overwhelmed (thinking of our IT requirements). The website is simple, clean, and professional and will help to establish CCW as a credible IT and Cloud computing provider.
